In short: Compare complete workbooks, not just one copied range, and review formulas, formatting, and structure locally.
1. Select the previous and current files
Use the native file picker for each side. xlLens reads only paths selected by the user and never uploads workbook contents.
- Previous: the baseline workbook
- Current: the workbook you want to review
- Supported: XLSX, XLSM, XLS, XLSB, CSV, and TSV
2. Pick the mode
Smart is the default for most workbook reviews. Basic compares the same addresses strictly. Table matches reordered business rows by selected key columns.
3. Read the workspace
The result opens with changed source rows only. Original row numbers stay visible. Turn off Differences only when you need the unchanged context around a change.
